Nine Coram Deo-ites came out to take part in the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful Clean-up Day on May 12th. Our group was assigned to clear a huge pile of trash and junk in Huffaker Hills near Hidden Valley. Not only was it great to visibly see the difference our work made as we saw a gigantic pile reduced but some other pretty cool things happened that day as we were out serving in the community.
Connections We Made
Some of the folks from KTMB remembered us from the Christmas Tree Recycling gig that we helped out with back in January. It’s cool that Coram Deo is beginning to be recognized around town as “people who help out in the community.”
We also saw a Christian businessman that Dawson knows. Dawson had previously told him that Coram Deo wants to help the community and there we were actually helping in the community.
Beth witnessed to some inmates who were there doing community service. And we returned a wallet that we found to some nice people that were robbed several months ago. They were very grateful and felt blessed by us. It’s exciting to actually fulfill our desire to be good stewards of the world God made.
