Coram Deo is raising money to fight childhood cancer! At last year’s lemonade stand we raised over $1500. This year we hope to raise $3000 in donations. Butcher Boy is hosting us again this year and different companies have already started donating products and services for a raffle.
We Really Need Your Help
Last year we realized what a big undertaking this was, so this will be the only servant evangelism project we do in the month of June. We’ll need sign wavers, lemonade baristas, and plenty of extra hands.
It’ll be a two-day event so we can take advantage of any media coverage (last year KTVN did a short piece on us). But we don’t want anyone to get burned out; we’re sticking with our two-hour commitment. Sign up for a shift before they get full.
This is a family-friendly event.
Invite Family and Friends to Volunteer
It’s a perfect event to invite friends and family to participate by volunteering. Some people may not want to go to a church service or an Easter pageant, but they might be interested in doing something good.
Other Ways You Can Help
Maybe you can’t be at the lemonade stand, but would still like to help reach our goal. Or maybe you just want to maximize the things you can do to raise money. Here are some ideas.
- As the day gets closer, you could take a collection at your work.
- We could use more corporate sponsors. If you or your employer would be interested in contributing, contact Abby.
- Create your own online fundraising page and link to it on your Facebook (or MySpace or blog etc.) page. It’s easy at FirstGiving.org.
How We Got Involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Last year Abby saw the story of a four-year-old girl with cancer who set up a lemonade stand to raise money. By the time she died at age eight, she had raised over a million dollars.
