Record Number of Volunteers

It was a record turnout for the leaf raking. We seem to add enough people for a new team each year. We had three teams this time around that included a lot of first timers.

Crystal and everyone busting through a yard.

Once again we hit the neighborhood right around Huffaker Park. It was fun to recognize some of the homes we’ve served in previous years. We were looking for yards flooded with autumn leaves and we weren’t disappointed. One lawn took 23 bags to fully clean up.

We Were an Answer to Prayer

We helped a woman who recently had surgery. She was moved to tears when we said we’d rake her yard for free.

We met another woman who works the graveyard shift and just didn’t have the energy to get it done. Her 80-year-old mother tried do some yard work, but it was too much for her. Our team was able to knock it out for her in about 10 minutes.

We bring the kingdom with us when we extend ourselves into the world. We display in a concrete way what the love of Jesus looks like. And even if they never come to the faith, we will continue to joyfully serve Reno.

That's about a dozen bags.

A beautiful day for leaf raking.
