Coram Deo

Passover

This is the same kind of meal that Jesus and his Apostles ate that we usually call the Last Supper. This festival celebrates the deliverance of Israel from slavery, and so reminds us of how the Messiah delivered us from slavery to sin. It’ll enrich your understanding of the Easter. If you’d like to glorify the Christ in this way, let us know you’re interested.

Description

This is a full sit-down meal where the story of the Exodus (complete with ten plagues) is retold using symbolism in food. You can eat as much or as little as you want. You won’t have to do anything weird.

Family-Friendly

This is a child-friendly event. Alan Secunda, our rabbi-in-residence, is sure to remind you that children are welcome to the Passover meal. He would also tell you not to worry if the children make a little fuss or coo extra loud.

Food

This is a potluck. We’ll provide the main entrée (rotisserie chicken). You can help by offering to bring side dishes (rice, salad, soup, desserts, etc.). Jose will coordinate that, so that we’ll have enough for everyone. Come a little early if you need to prep your food or plug in a crock pot. No pork, shellfish, or bread.

Suggested Dress

It’s not a formal event, but you can dress a little nicer than you normally do for Sunday Worship at Coram Deo (where it’s very casual). Then again, no one will notice if you don’t.
