Let’s have lunch all together. It’s not a potluck because we want you to come even if you can’t bring something to share. Food will be provided. You provide yourself. Cultivate old friendships; start new ones.
If you’re interested in helping with set up for the lunch, let us know.

We lose an hour this weekend because of Daylight Saving. “Spring ahead” your clocks or you’ll be an hour late for Sunday Worship.

From Pastor Dawson:
Hello Coram Deoites,
This past Sunday we were covering Genesis 46-47. What an incredible section of Scripture coming off the heels of Genesis 45 where Joseph makes himself known to his brothers and does two things for them: (1) forgives them, and (2) provides for them. What a beautiful picture of Jesus!
Forgiving One Another
I had mentioned in my sermon that when we forgive another person it’s at that moment that we look the most like Jesus Christ. I know that as Christians we have plenty of good feeling moments, and we talk a lot about “being like Christ,” and we spend time at church, and we read our Bibles, and we pray, but where the rubber meets the road is during those hard moments where we want to be selfish and mean and get even with others, but instead we choose to love and forgive like Christ did for us.
Let me also add: we need to forgive others, but that doesn’t always mean that we can reconcile with them. Forgiveness and reconciliation are two different things. [continue reading »]

You Only Wear 20% of Wardrobe
We’re collecting clothes from now until Easter to benefit the Sierra Nevada Easter Seals, who help people with disabilities in our community become more independent. The clothes will be sold in their thrift stores; there’s one in one Plumb Lane near Costco.
We wear 20% of your wardrobe most of the time while most of your clothes hardly get any action. We could probably get rid of half of our wardrobe and not feel it. Plus, it would give you more room for clothes you might actually wear more often.
Bring Your Clothes to Church
Bring your wearable men and women’s clothing to the Welcome Table on Sunday morning. We’ll deliver them to the thrift store. Alternately, you can drop off your clothing yourself or call them at 775.322.6555 to have them picked up at your home.
Record the Purge for Prosperity
We’re curious what hopelessly out-of-style and embarrassing items of clothing you still have. Or maybe you’ve been hanging on to something for its sentimental value and are finally ready to let it go. Send us a photograph or video and share it with the rest of us. We want to see that ‘N Sync concert t-shirt you’ve been clinging to.

The women of the church have been getting together about once a month. You can join them and meet new people or finally have a conversation with that one person you keep saying hi to on Sunday mornings. Let us know you’re coming.

Every month we serve a complete spaghetti dinner to the men and women at the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission. If you’re interested in cooking a ton of pasta and serving it to several dozen men who are both hungry and grateful, then you want to talk to Susan Balkenbush.
